Continuing Education & Centres for Excellence

IHPME’s Continuing Education programs provide leadership training and critical research appraisal skills to clinical and non-clinical healthcare leaders across all levels of the health care system. Two programs are offered annually:

Clinical Epidemiology Institute

The Clinical Epidemiology Institute provides participants with the understanding and tools to critically appraise and use clinical research in a wide variety of health settings. This unique program provides an essential foundation for evidence-based decision-making.

Health Technology Assessment Institute

The HTA Institute brings together experts from a range of disciplines to provide attendees with pragmatic tools for HTA. This three-day intensive course will be useful for people using health technology assessments and making resource allocation decisions relating to drugs, devices, and programs.

Continuing education programs do not count towards a graduate degree, but may contribute to credits from the College of Family Physicians of Canada or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. See individual programs for details.
