Dr. Nathan is Director of the Aftercare Program and Head of the Solid Tumor Section in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at SickKids. As such, he is focused both on children receiving therapy for cancer as well as on outcomes in long term survivors of childhood and adolescent cancer. He is a Senior Associate Scientist in the SickKids Research Institute and a Professor of Paediatrics and Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Nathan’s research is focused on health care utilization by adult survivors of childhood cancer, as well as specific “late effects” of cancer therapy, including cardiac disease and second malignant neoplasms. Much of his research leverages administrative health services data holdings at ICES along with provincial pediatric and adolescent/young adult cancer registries to study a range of clinical and health services outcomes in Ontario’s cancer survivors. He is a member of several North American research and clinical committees focused on research, clinical care, and policy creation for long-term survivors of childhood cancer, including the steering committees of the Children’s Oncology Group (COG) Survivorship and Outcomes Committee, and the Childhood Cancer Survivor Study (CCSS).
