Healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) are a major challenge for health systems globally. This rapid review assesses the state of HAI surveillance, monitoring, and reporting in three Canadian provinces: British Columbia, Manitoba, and Nova Scotia. By identifying the extent to which HAI information is being utilized in these jurisdictions to improve outcomes in acute and long-term care settings, this review provides insight in support of efforts to standardize subnational and national HAI surveillance and reporting in Canada.
