Welcome to the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation.

As the largest and most productive group of scholars working in health services, health policy, clinical epidemiology, and related fields in Canada, we have much to celebrate. The impact of our research is evident through our contributions to higher quality and more sustainable health care systems globally. We are also growing, with new faculty members, research associates and post-doctoral students joining the Institute on a regular basis.

Our degree programs are worthy of special mention. We offer a broad range of programs and consistently attract exceptional students from diverse backgrounds and with a wealth of experiences. We are proud of the accomplishments of our students during their time with us and as they move into post-graduation leadership roles and positions of responsibility. We are also particularly grateful for our Society of Graduates.  They help maintain a community of IHPME graduates across the country and around the world and their ongoing contributions to the intellectual (and social) activities of the Institute are very much appreciated.

IHPME is well known for its many partnerships. These are a vital component of IHPME’s success and something that is highly valued by all faculty and students. Our partnerships with healthcare providers, public agencies and other academic units help us translate our findings and develop new perspectives on the most important problems facing health systems.

We are now in the third year of our five-year strategy, but have largely completed the work we started in 2012. We will continue to monitor our progress to ensure we stay on the right track and will update our strategy as the long-range strategy for our home faculty – the Dalla Lana School of Public Health – develops. And as always, we will continue our tradition of academic excellence as we advance the science of better health and health care.
