Using MaxQDA for qualitative analysis: A (better) alternative to NVivo and AtlasTIProfile of Sarina Isenberg

Sarina Isenberg PhD, MA; Scientist at the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care at the Sinai Health System, and Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine, University of Toronto

This presentation will provide an overview of how to use the MaxQDA software, as well as showcase how this software might to be used for advanced qualitative analysis to compare codes across manuscripts and use visual tools.

Sarina Isenberg is a Scientist at the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care (Sinai Health System) and Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute (Sinai Health System), as well as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine – Division of Palliative Care at the University of Toronto. Sarina’s ongoing work relates to evaluating the cost effectiveness of home-based palliative care, assessing the patient and caregiver experience of receiving palliative care and transitioning across palliative care settings, and designing and implementing quality improvement initiatives in palliative care. Sarina received her PhD in Social and Behavioral Sciences at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and previously worked at as a management consultant on Deloitte’s National Health Services Team (Canada).
