Description

This course will teach students how to write stories. It is aimed at health care professionals including physicians, nurses, administrators, and therapists. The goal of the course is for each student to write a short story (1200 to 1500 words) about their personal experiences that can be published in a health care journal. There will be a series of classes that involve didactic teaching, examples, readings and use of music videos to teach effective story telling. The class will review drafts of each student’s story (ie work will be shown to everyone in the class with comments by instructors) and each student will be required to submit a final written version at the end of the course.
