A promotional image for a virtual lecture titled "Extending our REACH: Re-imagining Evaluation to Accelerate (meaningful) Change in Healthcare," scheduled for September 30, 2024, from 12:00 – 1:00 PM. The lecture is part of the "Big Ideas" series. Dr. Kathryn Parker, PhD, the speaker, is currently the Associate Director of Transformative Change with the Centre for Advancing Collaborative Healthcare and Education, a TIER Education Investigator 2, and Associate Professor with the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Toronto. She applies her program evaluation skills when working with numerous academic/clinical groups to facilitate and direct program evaluation efforts. Her work has garnered numerous awards (Larry Chester Award, Sherman Award of Excellence, and many more). The image features a head silhouette with abstract medical icons and graphics, a small photo of Dr. Parker, and the logos of TIER and UHN (The Institute for Education Research).

In the face of a burning world and a broken healthcare system, healthcare education must step up to address the underlying issues. As a program evaluator, Dr. Parker explores how we can reimagine evaluation as a powerful learning tool to drive meaningful change. This presentation will delve into the shortcomings of our current evaluation methods and proposes a fresh perspective to rise to the challenge of transformative change. Practical applications for this new approach will also be discussed.
