CTP SEMINAR:
Former Caregiver Perspectives on the Continuum of Dementia Care in Rural Ontario
December 3, 2014

Health Sciences Building room 412
3:00 – 4:30 p.m.

Abstract: Persons with dementia and their family members, who provide the bulk of informal care, do not always experience the quality and kind of support they need. In particular, persons living with, or caring for, dementia in rural settings often face inadequate service provision, barriers to service use, and uneven community support. In this presentation, HCTP Doctoral Fellow Rachel Herron (Geography, Queen’s University) seeks to shed light on the unevenness of care over the course of the illness and across different sites (e.g. home, day programs, long-term care etc.). Professor Jill Cameron (Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy, UofT) is the discussant and HCTP Doctoral Fellow Julia Gruson-Wood (Science and Technology Studies, York University) will moderate the session. Please check the website for more information on Rachel’s seminar.
