Health Professions Education Globalized
A One-Day Symposium on June 2, 2015 at SickKids Hospital Auditorium
Academic institutions, health professionals and educators are global actors engaged in international partnerships and cross-cultural health initiatives that span institutions and countries. The Wilson Centre and the Department of Paediatrics, University of Toronto, present: Local Clinic, International Care, a one-day symposium exploring the many facets of this engagement, including implications for health professions education practice.

- A friendly debate between nursing leaders Pam Hubley and Bonnie Fleming-Carroll, moderated by Dr. Joy Richards, entitled: Pros and Cons of Engaging in International Work: A Nursing Perspective.
- A conversation with Drs. Siobhan Nelson and Michael Apkon, moderated by Dr. Denis Daneman, exploring the opportunities and challenges afforded to large educational institutions active in harnessing globalization’s potential, and the effects such engagement has on daily clinical and educational practice.
- Poster and panel presentations exploring different dimensions of globalization’s effects on health professional educators and academic health science centres.
- Opportunities to mingle and chat with thought leaders engaged in globalization-related scholarship.
This event is hosted at the Hospital for Sick Children and will take place at the Rotunda and the Daniels Hollywood Theatre (1st Floor Black Wing).
