Real World Evidence (RWE): A tale of two countries in Emerging Markets

The presentation will discuss the role of RWE in supporting access of new pharmaceuticals in two Emerging Market countries. The talk will wrap up by discussing the types of employment roles that HPME students can take to support the efforts of the pharma industry to generate RWE.

Dr. Manny Papadimitropoulos is the Health Technology Assessment Scientific Leader – Latin America at Eli Lilly and Company. Dr. Papadimitropoulos received his Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Saskatchewan and holds a Master’s degree in Pharmacy and a Ph.D. in Health Economics from the University of Toronto. He has worked in retail pharmacy, the pharmaceutical industry, and academia over the last 25 years. Prior to his current role, Dr. Papadimitropoulos was the Director of Health Technology Assessment – Emerging Markets at Eli Lilly and Company. He is also an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Pharmacy. Manny’s areas of research are in HTA, health outcome evaluation, and decision analysis.
