Friday, April 10: 10 AM – 12 PM Speaker: Rinku Sutradhar, Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES) & University of Toronto Title: “The Versatility of Multistate Models for The Analysis of Longitudinal Health Services Data” As part of the Canadian Centre for Health Economics (CCHE) Friday Health Economics Series, we welcome Professor Rinku Sutradhar this Friday April 10th, 10am – 12pm in HS100 (Health Sciences Building 155 College Street). Professor Sutradhar will explore “The Versatility of Multistate Models for The Analysis of Longitudinal Health Services Data”. Dr. Rinku Sutradhar is a Biostatistician-Scientist at ICES and an assistant professor at IHPME. Her research interests focus on the development of statistical methodology for the analysis of multistate and recurrent event data arising from various types of incomplete observational schemes. Over the past few years, she has been implementing these methods to examine longitudinal health services data among patients diagnosed with cancer. Rinku Sutradhar Multistate models are often used to describe changes in an individual’s health condition over time. These models can be viewed as an extension of the traditional time-to-event models, and are particularly convenient for describing the complexities of a disease process. The aim of this seminar is to offer an introduction to multistate models and methodology. Researchers will learn how to go beyond the Cox model for handling time to multistate events. Various applications of multistate methodologies for examining longitudinal health services data among cancer patients will be illustrated.   Link to schedule of CCHE talks: http://www.canadiancentreforhealtheconomics.ca/learn/conferences-and-seminars/cche-seminar-series/  To be added to the CCHE Health Economics seminar series mailing list please send an e-mail to: cche@utoronto.ca
