Useful Elements of Geometry in Applied Research

This class aims to introduce the audience to the geometric way of looking at an econometric problem. The complex algebraic development of an issue might obscure your understanding of the essential issues, however, geometric intuition often enlightens the perception and should become a standard tool in the analysis of econometric models. Geometry will aide your intuition of econometrics and will help you to deeper appreciate existing methodologies as well as improve your learning of new research methods. This class might stimulate your appetite to develop your geometric thinking and its application to econometrics.

Dr. Corneliu Bolbocean holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Simon Fraser University and focuses his research portfolio on understanding the effect of public interventions on cognitive, non-cognitive and mental health outcomes around early life. His research affiliations include The University of Tennessee Health Science Centre and The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.
