Dr. Alan Batt is the Paramedicine Program Lead at Queen’s University, Ontario, Canada and Adjunct Senior Lecturer in Paramedicine at Monash University, Victoria, Australia. He is Deputy Editor of Paramedicine. Alan is an experienced paramedic clinician, educator, and researcher, and serves as a subject matter expert and reviewer on paramedicine, health professions education, and health services. He is Scientist and Co-Chair of the McNally Project for Paramedicine Research in Canada, and an Associate of the Prehospital Care Research Forum at UCLA, USA. As a researcher, Dr. Batt specializes in mixed-methods approaches to explore health professions education, with a focus on professional competencies, care of vulnerable and under-served populations, and social and structural determinants of health.
