Research Interests
My research focus is on patients with cardiovascular disease in the emergency department setting. Specifically my work has focused on the management and disposition of atrial fibrillation in the emergency setting and the continuity of care between the emergency department and primary care for discharged emergency department patients with chronic cardiovascular diseases such as atrial fibrillation, hypertension, and heart failure. I use linked administrative databases to perform this population-based work, often combining chart abstraction with the databases in order to answer questions related to the emergency care of these patient groups.
Professional Interests
clinical effectiveness, health services outcome and evaluation, cardiovascular diseases in the emergency department, continuity of care between the emergency department and primary care.
Impact
I conduct research that will facilitate the safe discharge of more patients with chronic cardiovascular diseases to their homes.
