Professor Janet Papadakos has a PhD in Health Services Research and her research and professional program is centred on three main platforms:

1.Health Literacy & Health Communication: Developing interventions to mitigate the impact of low health literacy

2.Self-Management: Engaging patient and families to participate in their care

3.Patient Education: Advancing patient and family health knowledge

Janet is a Scientist, The Institute for Education Research, University Health Network; Co-Directs, the Cancer Health Literacy Research Centre, at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre (PM) and Directs the PM Education Research & Evaluation Program. She is also an Assistant Professor, Institute for Health Policy, Management & Evaluation, University of Toronto and teaches intermediate qualitative methods in health services research.
