Jeffrey Hoch received his PhD in health economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. He also holds a Masters in Economics from the Johns Hopkins University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Quantitative Economics and Decision Sciences from the University of California at San Diego. Currently, he is Professor and Chief of Division of Health Policy and Management in the Department of Public Health Sciences and the Associate Director of the Center for Healthcare Policy and Research at the University of California at Davis. As an award-winning teacher, Professor Hoch has taught Health Economics and Economic Evaluation classes throughout the world, giving over 250 invited presentations in 15 countries. Professor Hoch draws on a rich, international experience developing and leading applied health economics research groups and pursuing research making health economics more useful to decision makers. Professor Hoch continues to develop research interests related to health economics, health services research and health policy in cancer, mental health, and other health issues affecting poor and vulnerable populations.
