John Kirk is a Professor Emeritus at Dalhousie University where he taught for 43 years in the Department of Spanish and Latin American Studies. His research has mainly focused on contemporary Cuba, and he is the author/co-editor of several books on Cuba. For the past decade, he has focused on the Cuban approach to public health, and its application in the global south—on which he has written two books.
