Sonali Kohli is the Executive Vice President, Digital Transformation and Chief Information Officer at Niagara Health. She has extensive experience in enhancing patient care by using technology as an enabler – both regionally and within hospitals.
Sonali’s collaborative nature has allowed her to develop great relationships with all her stakeholders – federal, provincial and all levels of stakeholders at the various organizations participating in the regional IT system implementations. These relationships have been key in her success and allows her to obtain consensus on difficult issues. As part of her role as a Program Director for ConnectingGTA, Sonali has been involved in complex contractual negotiations (including novation) with vendors and funders. As a lead for GTA West DI-r, Sonali has developed and obtained consensus from Executive members of 19 organizations on the strategies for maximizing investments in the implemented infrastructures. She has also led the Project Control Office for the HIS implementation at Trillium Health Partners.
Sonali’s expertise in strategic thinking, project management, stakeholder management and her detail oriented approach has resulted in her Programs being recognized for a number of provincial and national awards. Two of her programs have been nominated for the Canadian Information Productivity Award (CIPA), one of which went on to win the Silver Award for Excellence in Customer Service. In addition, one of these programs was a National Finalist for the Ingenious Award in 2014. During her tenure at UHN and THP, Sonali has led and mentored over 30+ staff and is regarded as an ‘inspiring leader’.
