Shannon is a graduate of the Master of Science, Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (MSc QIPS) program at the University of Toronto. She is a Registered Nurse with over 20 years of experience in acute health care. She has completed the Advanced Health Leadership Program at the Rotman School of Management. As an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Toronto she serves as a tutor for students enrolled in the MSc QIPS program.
Shannon is the Vice President of Quality and Practice at Trillium Health Partners (THP) in Mississauga, where she provides leadership to the Quality and patient Safety, Risk and Emergency Preparedness, Professional Practice and the Clinical Resource Team, Infection Prevention and Control, and the Regional Ethics programs. She provided director-level leadership in multiple areas at THP during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, including Inpatient Medicine, Flow and Operations, ICU and Critical Care Redevelopment. In these roles, she excelled in crisis leadership, applied risk tools and frameworks to advance operational plans, and opened THP’s pandemic response unit. Shannon championed quality improvement in clinical operations and inspired teams to find innovative solutions to complex problem.
Shannon is an accomplished leader who is known for her passion for quality improvement and excellence in clinical operations, with an ability to create high functioning teams. Having served as Vice President Clinical Services and Chief Nursing Executive at the Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance prior to joining THP in 2020, Shannon has demonstrated skill and excellence in professional practice and championing interprofessional collaboration.
