Andrew Mendlowitz PhD, MBiotech, is currently a Scientific Associate at the Toronto Centre for Liver Disease/Viral Hepatitis Care Network (VIRCAN), Toronto General Hospital Research Institute, University Health Network (UHN). He also holds an appointment as Adjunct Professor in the School of Health Policy and Management at York University. Andrew completed his doctoral studies at the University of Toronto at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation in Health Services Research – Health Technology Assessment. He completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship through the Toronto Centre for Liver Disease. Andrew has been the recipient of awards from the Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR) and the Canadian Network on Hepatitis C (CanHepC). Prior to his doctoral training, Andrew worked in the pharmaceutical industry in health technology assessment, medical education, and enterprise operations.

Andrew’s research interests include methodologies relating to economic evaluations, health services research using administrative data, decision modelling and health technology assessment. His research is focused on use of administrative health data for the surveillance and evaluation of progress towards the elimination of viral hepatitis.
