Dr. Mtaweh is a pediatric critical care physician at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) and an assistant professor at University of Toronto.
Her research program is focused on improving the understanding of metabolism and nutrition in critically ill children by defining the associations between patients’ underlying disease state, nutritional interventions instituted in ICU, and outcomes post critical illness. Dr. Mtaweh is an active member of the pediatric subgroup of the Canadian Critical Care Trials Group (CCCTG) and the US led PICU-NutriNet.
Her additional research interests are informed by clinical practice with particular focus on the role of continuous renal replacement therapy in improving nutritional delivery in critically ill children, and the advancement of pediatric organ donation practices in Canada.
