Parisa is deeply passionate about harnessing the power of data and artificial intelligence to transform healthcare. However, it is imperative to recognize the risks and limitations of AI, especially when it comes to embedded bias and discrimination in data or models. With multidisciplinary background in Health Informatics, privacy, and AI governance, Parisa has been actively engaged in developing frameworks to address the ethical challenges posed by AI advancements. Having a keen eye for responsible AI deployment, putting her on a mission to uncover and address biases in AI algorithms that could affect equitable access to healthcare.
Vector Institute for Artificial Intelligence is where Parisa currently develop the next generation of policies and processes in governing health data which will be leveraged in Health AI and ML applications. She holds CIPP/C, BHS from York University and MHI UofT. Also, she recently made a mark in her career by winning EU AI Act grand challenge in St. Gallen Switzerland along with her international team. Parisa has been granted the Fitzgerald Fellowship in AI and Human Centered Leadership in 2023.
