Acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease are conditions that are rising in prevalence. Both are associated with a high risk of adverse outcomes relative to the general population. Unfortunately, there is a dearth of high quality data to guide care in these settings. Through the conduct of high quality clinical trials and observational studies, we hope to enhance the quality of evidence and ultimately impact on clinical decision making in these populations.
