Olli Saarela is an Associate Professor at Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto, with the primary appointment in Public Health Sciences and a cross-appointment in the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation (IHPME). Before joining U of T in 2014, he completed his PhD at University of Helsinki, Finland, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at McGill University. He is a biostatistician with methodological research interests in causal inference, Bayesian inference and survival analysis. His recent research has focused on developing high-dimensional mediation analysis methods, and causal inference methods for hospital/provider profiling and quality-of-care comparisons.
