Dr. Watt’s research program focuses on improving the care of older adults and their caregivers and advancing knowledge synthesis methods. She studies the comparative efficacy and safety of pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic interventions using knowledge synthesis and observational study methods; and geriatric models of care using knowledge synthesis, mixed-methods, clinical trials, and implementation science methods. Dr. Watt has received local (2021 University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine Alumni Awards of Distinction: Rising Star Award; 2019 Thomas and Edna Naylor Memorial Award for the best paper based on thesis in Health Services and Health Care Research at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation), national (2019 CIHR Institute of Health Services and Policy Research Rising Star Award), and international (2021 American Geriatrics Society Outstanding Junior Research Manuscript Award) awards for her research.
