Catherine Yu is a Staff Endocrinologist at St. Michael’s Hospital, Associate Professor of Faculty of Medicine and Dalla Lhana School of Public Health, and Associate Scientist in the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute of St. Michael’s Hospital. She was past-Chair of the Clinical Practice Guidelines Dissemination and Implementation Committee of Diabetes Canada, where-in she has developed evidence-based and innovative strategies to put guidelines into practice and improve the quality of diabetes care across Canada. As the past Mentorship Lead of the University of Toronto Department of Medicine’s Culture and Inclusion portfolio, she is passionate about supporting others in their professional and personal lives, and engaging in scholarship regarding mentorship, equity and inclusion in academic medicine. On call and in the clinic, she is passionate about teaching and engaging learners using evidence-based techniques, and in providing the best care for her patients.
