Dr. Jonathan Zipursky is an Internist and Clinical Pharmacologist & Toxicologist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. He is a Clinician-Scientist at the Sunnybrook Research Institute, and an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto Temerty Faculty of Medicine. He completed his undergraduate studies at Queen’s University and medical degree at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. His postgraduate clinical training was completed at the University of Toronto. His PhD, which focused on the epidemiology of postpartum opioid prescribing in Ontario, was also completed at the University of Toronto. His PhD studies were supported by a Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Doctoral Award and the Eliot Phillipson Clinician Scientist Training Program.
Dr. Zipursky’s research focuses on pharmacoepidemiology and drug safety in pregnancy and lactation. He has expertise in using linked administrative databases to study drug safety and effectiveness. Dr. Zipursky’s research is supported by grants from CIHR, and his work has been published in high impact journals including NEJM, BMJ, JAMA Internal Medicine, and CMAJ.
