The Upstream Lab at the Centre for Urban Health Solutions is a space to co-design and evaluate interventions on social determinants of health. The Upstream Lab is only a few years old but is beginning to be recognized nationally and internationally. Our work on addressing income security and precarious employment, build financial empowerment and community economic resiliency, and engage in policy advocacy, has inspired other health organizations to move forward with interventions on social determinants. See here for a framework for primary care organizations.
