Evidence and policy: need for a new map?

Presented by: Dr. Mark Dobrow

Dr. Dobrow’s interests focus on improving our understanding and use (identification, interpretation and application) of different types of evidence (e.g., research, contextual and experiential) to inform and improve health system/policy decisions.

Influenced by opportunities to work in both national and provincial health care agencies, Dr. Dobrow seeks to have impact on health systems and policy in practical and applied ways. His research on the impact of context on the use of evidence has included work with many jurisdictions and health care organizations in Canada and internationally, including the World Health Organization, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and a number of European cancer agencies.
