Please join us for a unique cross-disciplinary series of lectures by visiting scholars in collaboration with the North American Observatory on Health Systems and Policy, Office of Global Health Education and Training and the Clinical Public Health Division.

Dr. Mark Clarfield is a Canadian trained Public Health and Preventive Medicine Specialist who was most recently head of geriatrics at Soroka Hospital, and the Director of the Medical School for International Health at Ben Gurion University of The Negev. He is Professor (adjunct), Department of Family Medicine and Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, McGill University, and Sidonie Hecht Professor of Geriatrics, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. He has published widely in the fields of medical education, dementia, geriatrics, and global health.

Ora Paltiel is a professor with the Braun School of Public Health and Dept of Hematology Hadassah-Hebrew University. She is trained in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Oncology at McGill and holds a Master’s in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. She has led the international MPH program, and was recently the director of the Braun School of Public Health at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Her clinical focus is on the treatment of lymphomas and much of her research has focused on Cancer Epidemiology in Israel concentrating on a variety of risk factors, especially perinatal events and exposures. She has also had leading roles in the Primary Care Indicators project, as well as the Jerusalem Perinatal Study.
