Student Workshop: Consulting in Health Care

Mr. Preyra will speak as a Health Economist working in a research, policy and consulting setting. All are welcome. 

Colin Preyra, PhD is CEO and Scientific Director of the Preyra Solutions Group (PSG), a firm at the intersection of computing, economics, statistics and clinical science. With his PSG team, he develops tools to better fund, plan, and deliver health care.  He has worked with hundreds of health care organizations and his work has informed billions of dollars in capital and operating decisions.

This session will motivate discussion about ways to use economics and other research skills as a basis for a consulting career. Much of the talk will sample Colin’s experiences and reflections from twenty years as a health care consultant. Topics will include: projects, hiring, data and tools, and using economic theory and methods in practice.
