As part of the Canadian Centre for Health Economics (CCHE) Friday Health Economics Series, we welcome Adrian Rohit Dass this Friday February 6th, 10am – 12pm in HS100 (Health Sciences Building 155 College Street). Adrian will explore “Econometric and Hierarchical Methods for Analyzing Data from Longitudinal Studies”

Adrian Rohit Dass is a Research Coordinator at the Institute of Health Policy, Management, and Evaluation at the University of Toronto. He holds a Masters Degree in Economics from the University of Guelph. He is interested in the application of econometric methods to survey and administrative data from longitudinal studies. His primary area of research is applied microeconometrics in the field of health economics.

Abstract

Longitudinal (or panel) studies are the collection of data on cross-sectional units (persons, firms, countries, etc.) over multiple time periods, such as the National Population Health Survey (NPHS) or Survey of Labour and Income Dynamics (SLID). This session will give an overview of the statistical methods that can be applied to data from these types of studies. These methods can be used as a potential solution to confounding caused by unobserved factors in the analysis. No previous knowledge of statistical methods for longitudinal studies is required. It will build from a multiple regression framework and extend to repeated measures. All are welcome.
