with Dr. Brian Robson, Executive Clinical Director, Health Improvement Scotland 

Please join IHPME’s Adalsteinn Brown and Ross Baker, the Centre for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety, and Health Improvement Scotland for a special presentation session on Monday, September 19, 2016 at the Health Sciences Building, Room 106.

Brian Robson will present on ‘Scotland’s quality journey … The end of the beginning’, and guests will have a chance to participate in a Q&A after the presentation. Light refreshments will be served.

Dr. Brian Robson MBChB, MRCGP, MPH, DRCOG

Biography:

A graduate of Glasgow University and Harvard School of Public Health, Brian has a background in General Practice, GP out of hours, telephone triage and latterly eHealth and Quality Improvement.

He was a Health Foundation Quality Improvement Fellow (2008-9) with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) in Boston, Massachusetts where he was involved in leading a subcommittee of the IHI Board exploring the role of Health Information Technology in accelerating quality improvement. In 2009 he completed an MPH (Clinical Effectiveness) at Harvard School of Public Health.

He is the Board Executive Clinical Director for Healthcare Improvement Scotland with responsibilities including clinical leadership of patient safety, eHealth, measurement and clinical engagement. He sits on the Scottish Government eHealth Strategy Board and continues his interest in health IT as faculty with IHI.

He continues a regular clinical session in General Practice in Glasgow which keeps him grounded in the realities of working at the frontline!
