Brian Hodges is Executive-Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at University Health Network, and Professor in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. He is a Senior Fellow at Massey College and Immediate Past-President of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Brian is a practicing psychiatrist, teacher and healthcare leader. His research and writing focus on assessment, competence, compassion and the future of the health professions.
Brian earned a degree in Psychology and an MD at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, after which he completed a psychiatry residency and a fellowship in medical education at the University of Toronto. He earned Master’s degree and then a PhD in Education at the University of Toronto. He also completed a Diploma in Health Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Paris where he continues as a guest lecturer.
