Professional Interests
My research group aims to develop new clinical data integration technology and analytics methods (both based on modern statistical methods and artificial intelligence) to better create patient-level predictions for patient prognosis and outcomes using a computational biomedicine approach. Our other major area of focus is on developing technology to deliver predictive analytics to physicians and study the effect of predictive analytics on organization of care, patient management and outcomes. We are specialized in cardiovascular disease and our largest area of focus is the prevention and management of heart failure through next generation health technology and predictive analytics.
Impact
My group is developing infrastructure to support the conduct of research and analyses of quality. We have created pilot software capable of securely integrating data from multiple sources in partnership with the Ted Rogers Centre for Heart Research (TRCHR) and the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre at UHN. With Dr. Heather Ross, I co-lead the TRCHR Computational Biomedicine Program. I am part of the Toronto Academic Cardiac & Vascular Collaborative, working to improve care for patients with cardiac and vascular pathologies by implementing a city-wide data integration platform.
