Nancy McNaughton

Faculty Member

I am interested in how social science theories and critical perspectives inform issues of health professional socialization. I am curious about intersections of power as they relate to equity, access and constructions of knowledge legitimacy. My specific interest is in the role emotion and affect in health professions training. My experience in simulation based education specifically with simulated patients also informs my work in the areas of assessment, pedagogy and research.

Professional Interests:

  • Simulation based education
  • Qualitative approaches to health education research
  • Co-production projects
  • Patient and caregiver engagement in health professions education
