Howard Rosen is an adjunct professor in the Master of Health Informatics program at the University of Toronto, bringing three decades of experience at the intersection of healthcare systems, digital innovation, and policy‑relevant research. He is CEO of Nova Insights, where he leads applied AI and intelligent automation initiatives that measurably reduce administrative burden, improve care transitions, and generate empirical evidence for health system funding and governance in Canadian and U.S. settings.

His work spans physician workflow optimization, post‑discharge readmission reduction, and veteran mental health follow‑up, with projects designed around rigorous evaluation, ethics, and data stewardship, aligning closely with IHPME priorities on equitable and sustainable health systems and leadership through lifelong learning. For IHPME, in addition to his nine patents on health innovations, he draws on this blend of entrepreneurship, implementation experience, and research collaboration to help students connect health informatics theory to real‑world system design, performance management, and responsible deployment of AI in clinical environments
