Dr. Sarah Wheeler is the manager for Patient and Provider Experience in the Population Health and Value-Based Systems portfolio at Ontario Health (OH) where she leads work in measuring the experience of people within the health care system. In addition to providing key insights to decision-makers that impact the way health care is delivered and improves experiences, this work has led to numerous peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations. Her current areas of focus are measurement of patient experience and socio-demographic information in Ontario Health Teams (OHTs) to address quality and equity in health care services.
She earned her PhD from the University of Toronto from the Department of Psychology and completed the Collaborative Program in Neuroscience and Clinical Neuropsychology training.
In her role as an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto in the Institute of Health Policy Management and Evaluation, she developed and teaches Introduction to Survey Methods and Psychometrics. She also provides survey methods expertise through collaborations with other faculty and student thesis committees.
Her research interests include behaviour change and experience measurement in health services.
