About

Funded by: TD Community Health Solutions Grant. The Michael Garron Hospital Foundation
Approach: Mixed Methods/ Equity Heatmap/ Co-design

This mixed-methods study aims to identify frequent users of Michael Garron Hospital’s (MGH) Emergency Department (ED) and understand their characteristics through equity heatmaps. The primary objective is to visualize data that informs the allocation of resources, and the design of interventions tailored to community needs, ultimately reducing avoidable ED visits.
The secondary objectives include supporting East Toronto Health Partners’ (ETHP) priorities, such as designing Integrated Clinical Pathways and fostering collaboration among hospital staff, community partners, and residents to create a comprehensive plan addressing identified needs.
