Dr. Sara Shearkhani is an Evaluation Scientist at Michael Garron Hospital. She successfully completed her CIHR (Canadian Institutes for Health Research) Health System Impact Post-Doctoral Fellowship at East Toronto Health Partners ( East Toronto Ontario Health Team) in 2022. Sara has a PhD in Health Services Research (Outcomes and Evaluation) from IHPM and a Master’s in Economics. She was a Fellow at the Health System Performance Network (HSPN) and the Canadian Frailty Network focusing on family caregivers’ healthcare utilization and associated costs during her PhD studies. She was named one of the faces of change in Ontario in 2014 and received the Canada Cares Award in 2017.
Sara’s research interest is on employing evaluation techniques to contribute to creating learning health systems within integrated care settings, as well as advancing equity in resource-poor communities.
