About
Dr. Stephanie Simpson is a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation (IHPME) at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health. She obtained her PhD in Health Information Science from Western University in 2022, where her research explored the government institutions shaping public policy development at the provincial level. Key findings subsequently informed a Health Impact Assessment protocol to support the ‘upstream’ development of healthy public policies within non-health sectors of the Ontario government. Accordingly, Stephanie brings expertise in evidence-informed policy, systems governance, and policy bureaucracy to her current work at IHPME. Here, she is working with Dr. Sara Allin on a study exploring public health systems governance for intersectoral climate action across Canada. Prior to this, Stephanie was a policy advisor with CIHR’s Institute of Population and Public Health, where she led the early development of the Institute’s new Public Health Systems Research priority area.
