Program Director – Health Administration (MHSc)

Karen Born is an Assistant Professor (Teaching Stream) at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto. She also serves as Program Director of the Master of Health Science (MHSc) in Health Administration, a program designed for working professionals that integrates business, management and health policy to prepare graduates for leadership and change in the healthcare sector. From 2015 to 2022, Karen was the Knowledge Translation Lead for the Choosing Wisely Canada campaign where she oversaw dissemination of campaign content to patients and the public, integrated the initiative into medical education, and coordinated international collaborations. Her teaching and research focus on quality improvement, knowledge translation, health policy and resource stewardship. She leads a research program aimed at embedding resource stewardship in health professional education and advancing sustainability in quality improvement practice and measurement.
