About

Funded by: The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)
Approach: Mixed Methods/ Survey/Focus group/ Co-design

The Advancing an Equity-first Research Agenda in an East Toronto Ontario Health Team is a CIHR planning grant that aims to co-design an equity-focused research agenda to address health inequities. Traditional approaches to addressing inequities often exclude community members from co-creating solutions, hindering progress in addressing inequities. To bridge this gap, the planning grant commits to a Learning Health System (LHS) approach and co-designing research priorities with equity-seeking communities. By engaging community members, healthcare leaders, clinicians, and researchers, the project aims to develop strategies to overcome systemic barriers hindering optimal health outcomes.
