About

Pablo (Pau) Galvez-Hernandez (PhD, MSc, RN) is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation, Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto. Dr. Galvez’s work focuses on the study of team-based primary health care models, as well as local intersectoral collaborations among primary care, social, government, and civil society organizations. Specifically, he examines the implementation and development of interprofessional primary care teams in Canada using implementation science and statistical methods. Additionally, Dr. Galvez has evaluated national public health policies and programs in Catalonia, Spain, aimed at fostering intersectoral collaboration and action in local jurisdictions to address loneliness and social isolation in the older population. He applies quantitative and multi-method approaches, combining data analytics and machine learning methods such as web scraping, natural language processing, and spatial analysis with traditional statistical methods.

Previously, Dr. Galvez worked at the International University of Catalonia under the direction of the former Minister of Health, conducting studies on patient experience with collaboration of patient advocacy associations. He also served as a committee member on the health technology assessment committees for orphan and hospital drugs at the Government of Catalonia and worked within several primary care teams.
