Roadmap

This at a glance guide will help you navigate what to expect in the HSR MSc program. 

This roadmap is based on a five term completion for a full-time student in under two years.

Pre-Entry-Spring/Summer (Thesis-based)

  1. Intake meeting (Emphasis Lead and Supervisor). Discuss program timelines, courses, and funding
  2. Submit annual income declaration form
  3. Connect with your Supervisor and discuss timelines and any potential scholarship opportunities
  4. Register for fall courses mid-August

Year 1 (Thesis-based)

  1. Complete the 6 required courses – usually taken in the first year (dependent on your emphasis)
  2. Form the thesis committee (minimum 2 members including your supervisor)
  3. Draft thesis proposal with supervisor and committee
  4. Meet with your thesis committee minimum twice annually (submit meeting report to graduate assistant)

Year 2 (Thesis-based)

  1. IHPME Y1 funding ends. Review and ensure your Y2 finances
  2. Meet with your thesis committee minimum twice annually (submit meeting report to graduate assistant)
  3. Important dates as you prepare to defend
